We had originally planned to the big bash on the roof deck of the Knightsbridge Residences at Century City and the theme was supposed to an enchanted fairy forest. But my husband being the “party animal” that he is, suggested an animal inspired theme, since Olivia does indeed get all excited when she sees animals at the zoo, fish in a koi pond or even just pet dogs of friends. Thus the theme, “Party Animal” was born and we proceeded to brainstorm on ideas for a wild safari inspired birthday party.
We found our animal/pet supplier barely a week before the date, had two oculars merely 10 days before and 2 days before the event, had our food tasting less than a week ahead, had her dress made in about 4 days, completed our list of suppliers again in less than a week sent out invites 12 days before her birthday, finished the giveaways 2 days before the event… And in spite of everything being rushed and photo-finished it turned out to be THE BEST FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER!!
There are so many people we’d thank and the first of course would be Chinkie Agregado! She planned my wedding, and later Olivia’s baptism and now her first birthday party. She’s the best events planner. EVER. Teddy Manuel did the set up of the whole party and he did an AMAZING job. He’s such a professional and I admire him so much. You just tell him what you want and he gets you already! He also did Olivia’s decor for her baptismal after party at Naya back in July. The food at Olivia’s birthday was amazing… Everyone is still talking about it. Thank you K Cunanan. You are a culinary genius! As both the kids and the adults were all praises about the food we served! We had a potato station, burrito station, mac and cheese, sliders bar, smores bar, plus the very best mini burgers and corndogs ever… All so goooood! Thank you Mayad Beginnings for the photos and the great Jason Magbanua for the video. Thank you to Sonja’s Cupcakes (they served milkshakes and ice creammm!!), Regine’s Home baked Goodies, Anna Ocampo Sarmiento, for the special cake with a cute little Olivia topper, Te Amo for the Olivia flower wall which was so beautiful and lush…. everyone wanted to have a photo with that truly fantastic photo wall. (Te Amo also provided the animal crowns) Veluz for Olivia’s hand painted dress, and Ninang Erica Brenner for Olivia’s Dolce & Gabanna Dress, Vita Coco for the unlimited drinks (including the really good rum and coco cocktail), Party Pals for the animal balloons, Pouf for the animal cotton candies, Spuntaneous Organic Cotton Candy and Coffee, Bath Origins for the hand sanitizer and odor free insect repellant…. AND THANK YOU to everyone who came and to everyone who greeted Olivia :)
OHHHHH… It was all so fun. It’s been a week and we are still on a birthday high. HAHAHA! Here are some of the photos from the party…
P.S. I’m actually seriously considering baby party planning as a career, cause I enjoyed doing it so much! Whatcha think?
